10 months

This little guy.
10 months old now.

A terrible sleeper.  Terrible.
Finally got 2 little teeth to peep through.
Crawls on all fours.
Pulls himself up to stand.
Climbed some steps.
Loved and picked on like crazy.
{courtesy Reganne}
{And doesn't Christian look so proud of his *artwork*.}
LOVES his baths.
Eats.  Finally.

And some stats.
6 months:
16 lbs (25%)
27.5 (75%)

9 months:
16 lbs, 6 oz (5%)
27.5 (50%)

Yes, our little stick boy.  But like I said, he's starting to eat.  Alot.  I'm not huge on solid foods at 4 months.  I don't feel they really need it.  I hear often that 6 months is a better age.  And that's when we started him.  But he was just not interested.  Seriously.  A couple bites and he was done.  And it didn't matter what.  So we just followed his cue.  And right around 9 months, he decided he was ready ready.  Although still not a big fan of the cereals or green veggies.  Loves his little puffs though.  And still loves nursing.

and he's 5 months

What a joy this little Kellen kid is.
Loves to chew on his feet.  Loves to chew on anything really.
Still scooting around on his back.
Rolls both ways.
Enjoys playing on his tummy.  Unlike any of the others.
Loves to sleep on his tummy.
Still sleeping next to us.  In a pack'n'play.  Outgrew the cradle about 2 months ago.  The others slept in it for about 6 months...
And sleeps throughout the night about 4 times a week.  Otherwise gets up around 4-6ish for a feeding.
No solids yet.
Not too crazy about sitting in the walker thing, but will hang out in it for a bit.
Still adores his siblings.  Mostly.
Loves attention.

And I realize that I never posted his 4 months stats...so this is what he was at a month ago...15 pounds (45%) and 27 inches (90%).

Turned in his cradle. Back in July....
Chewing on his feet.
With my brother Garrett.  (Crawford, Co)
With Joe's brother B.J.  (Sheridan, Wy)
With Joe's dad, Grandpa Dave.  (Sheridan, Wy)
With Joe's mom, Grandma Jean, and his sisters.  Christian was throwing a fit on the floor next to them.

two years old

July 12th, 2010
A fun-filled day of Toy Story.
Streamers, balloons and yes, even a first ever movie theater experience.
(And for more than just him.)
A couple presents.
And an ice cream sundae.
(I was out of eggs...)

I couldn't get a good smile out of him.
He just kept singing 'hap bir-day to you.'
It was cute.
In fact, two weeks later he is still singing it.

May all your wildest 2 year old wishes come true, my sweet boy.

Yes, that is whipped cream and chocolate on his face.
He was getting impatient.

And for his stats.  I missed his 18 month check-up...
26.8 lbs (25%)
35.5 inches (75%)
And if you double his height here, it puts him just under 6 foot at 5'11...Sorry hun.

6.22.2010

2 months

24 inches (90%)
12 lbs 10 oz (75%)

Smiles and coos.
Sucks his thumb.
Sleeps about 6 hours at night.  Give or take.
Sleeps like crazy in his carseat.
Loves his siblings.
Hates being alone.
Still has light hair and blue eyes.
And still cherished as ever.

a single mom

Yes. That is what I've been feeling like lately.

Joe's been swamped at work. It's the end of a big financial...thingy(?), he's still somewhat training a new hire and his most recent boss left a few weeks ago for another job. So, getting home around 8pm if not later has been the norm lately. But I've been managing everything fine. Well fine if you agree that that means lots of take out, piles and piles of laundry (oh laundry...don't let me get started on that!) and stacks of dirty dishes;) It's not my ideal way of life, but I understand. Joe's job is important. It is what provides for our family. The good news: Joe has earned a promotion.
Yippee!
But with a promotion comes a price. A price in more time. But we're excited for this new opportunity for him. We know that this is a blessing from Heavenly Father. So, I better settle into my new role as a single mom. At least he's home to brush their teeth and put them in bed before we start watching Friends reruns;)
Well, what has a *single mom* and her family been up to lately besides that never ending mountain of laundry and running kids to and from school? Lets see...
***
Painted the girls' room while Joey was gone for the week in Cali and Kansas. Not quite the color I was envisioning, even Marryn said it looked "gold." But I think I'm liking it. (Hopefully I'll get the shelves and *stuff* put up soon-then we can really tell if it looks good.)
***
Went to World Market with my 25% off coupon. Proceeded to stare at this table.
Bought some oil jars and left.
***
Finally finished the backyard. Well, finished for this season. All that dirt is just waiting for some plants.
***
Marryn had her 5 year check-up and 5 booster shots. 38 lbs - 50%, 44 inches - 75%
***
Christian had his 15 month check-up with only 4 shots. 21.10 lbs - 25%, 31 inches - 55% (at least he's getting a little taller...Joey's really worried he's going to get my short genes...)
***
Put up some Halloween decorations.
***
Got hit with some pretty cold frost and a little bit of snow.
***
Eating lots of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Vegan approved for Joey.
***
Had to get Marryn a new pair of school shoes. Her $10 Target brand maryjanes are just not holding up. Trying to find a solid white pair of sneakers was not easy. Nor pretty. She loves her no-tie curly q's though;)

check-up

Christian turned 9 months on Easter.
Wow. Where does time go?

He had his Well Baby Check-Up last Thursday. No shots! Yeah. Especially for Marryn...(?) Anyhow. Everything looks good, other than the hint of pink eye he still had.... (That's him waking up that morning-he was happy at first, than just annoyed that I wasn't getting him out-and yes, I sat him up-can't get up by himself yet.)

Stats:
Weight-18 lbs, 5 oz (25%)
Height-28.25 (50%)
Head-17.75 (50%)

He eats about a half to a full jar of food a day (getting better at it-even ate his peas the other night!) and is still nursing quite a bit. That seems to be his favorite;). He does like his new Gerber puffs though. He sits really well and rolls all over when he's down, which usually happens when he leans too far forward to get something. His first tooth came through last week without any issues but now his second is coming up and it's a whole different story. Can't tell if he's sick or if his tooth is really bothering him. Saturday night he woke up around 1ish (this, unfortunately, is currently usual for him) but this time he just would not go back to sleep. I nursed him, tried rocking him, even just let him cry it out (of which he screamed for about an hour) before getting up with him. So we sat down in our big chair and watched TV. And he was perfectly happy with that. I laid him back down around 6ish (which is usually the second time he gets up at night-grrrr) and he finally went to sleep. And ever since then, he just hasn't been himself.... Other than that though, he is such a good, content babe. Just hangs out on the floor with us, chews on his toys, pulls out his wipes, started to wave (just a little) and is trying to clap. The girls just adore him and often fight over who gets to "play" with him or sit by him or whatever.

And his laugh. Oh his laugh.
It's has to be one of the sweetest sounds...

reganne turns two

Reganne turned two on Tuesday October 28th. Yippee! She was pretty excited about it. Since Marryn just had her birthday, Reganne kinda knew what was going on and ever since Marryn's birthday, every commercial for a toy was "Mom, can I get that for my next birthday?" and it wasn't long before Reganne was piping up "For my birthday?" (although birthday sounded more like "earthday").

Talking to Grandma Jean (in Christian's swing)

And can we say Dora? Dora Dora Dora the Explorer. Yes, that was the theme of the day. I am not real big on Dora, but I am trying not to put aside my daughter's likes for mine, so for the day I embraced the cartoon figure. Dora balloons, Dora plates, Dora wrapping paper and yes, Dora themed presents. (You know, toothbrush, band aids, underwear, puzzles, books...)

And her "big present", a dress up My Little Pony set. One from us and one from Grandma Georgia and Papa. Grandma Jean got her a Dora game set and Pj's (the one she's smelling...?) and Grandpa Dave sent good old cash for her savings. Marryn's special present was a Pony and Christian's was a pair of Sketchers. No picture for him though, he was sleeping after a fun filled dinner at Red Robin.

And just before her bedtime, I finally finished her cake. I made, from scratch, a carrot cake with homemade cream cheese frosting. That part turned out great. The fondant part didn't. Half the colors in the package I bought were as hard as a rock so instead of bright "Dora" colors, I ended up with pink and purple...more like "Princess" colors. And I was in such a hurry to finish it, that it wasn't real smooth.... Reganne didn't care though. She devoured the frosting part. Her and Marryn both, leaving the cake behind....

And finally, her 2 year checkup. 80th for length (35 inch) and 45th for weight (26 lb, 12 oz). Pretty much what her percentiles have been in the past. I just hope they continue that way, tall and thin....
