another girl, another birthday, another party

Well, not really another party, but it sure looked like it;).
Just days before the big day, little miss Reganne informed me of this:

She wanted a Mulan birthday.
She wanted streamers on her doorway.
She wanted her friend Cassidy to come over.
She wanted to *unwrap* gum.
She had her gum privilage taken away and was getting it back on her birthday;).

Oh, to be four again...

She had a pretty big day nevertheless.

Woke up to streamers covering her doorway and the table all decked out with *Mulan* colors.
Got the inspiration from her Mulan doll's dress.  Although we couldn't find the actual doll...
Had her big Halloween party at preschool where she got to wear her costume and share some cupcakes.
Talked to her favorite cousin Maylee on the phone.
Her friend Cassidy came over and played.
Grandma Jean came over.
Opened one super-doper fun present.
Had her last soccer practice, kids vs parents.
Went to Panda Express for dinner (had to keep with the *oriental* theme).
Opened some more presents, including yes, a package of gum.
Had Happy Birthday sung to her.
Blew out a candle.
And enjoyed her 4th rainbow chip cupcake of the day.

I *think* she had a good 4th birthday.

tea party feature

So a couple weeks ago I came across this blog, Honey We're Home.

I was in love.

Megan has an amazing to-die-for home, a super cute little baby and she herself is of course just beautiful.

And she found my blog.  And asked if she could feature Marryn's Tea Party.

I was ecstatic.

So be sure to check it out.  Or at least check out her blog.  I promise, it'll become one of your favorites too. ;)

an enchanting tea party

the invites

the decorations

the cupcakes

the treats

the little sisters

the party

We had so much fun with this party!!  I just wish I had started planning it a little earlier...

Found 11 matching teacups and saucers, the *creamer* and *sugar jar* at the Salvation Army, 1/2 off.
Found a coordinating teapot (no lid though) at Goodwill.
Little sister's tea set, clearance toys from Target a while back.
Made the tissue pom poms myself from tissue paper and floral wire from the Dollar Store.
Had the Happy Birthday banner (a Pottery Barn clearance a couple years ago).
Pink plates, cups, poka-dot napkins and table clothes from Target.
Had pink lemonade with fresh sliced lemons and flower shaped ice cubes (Dollar Store).
Served PB&J *tea sandwiches*, strawberries, grapes, pretzels, cheese cubes and olives.
Cherry chip cupcakes with cherry frosting and pearl beads (Wilson).
The black poka-dot paper cups from Michaels.
Party gifts were cotton candy, bubble gum, more candy and bubbles, later all packaged in a clear little bag.
15 girls total (11 big, 4 little).
Made bracelets and played outside.

Enjoyed the decorating and planning...didn't do so hot with the hosting...;)
Good thing some moms volunteered to help.
And didn't get all the photos I wanted.
In fact, ran out of time to even take the table photos, so I set it all up a couple days later to get them.  That's why my flowers are a little wilted.

And thanks to Grandma Jean, who took Christian for the whole day.

and now she's six

It's so hard to comprehend.
She's 6.

Seems like just yesterday she was this itty bitty baby.
And now.

Going to school.
Reading.
Playing soccer.
Losing teeth (lost her first top tooth the day after her birthday).
Hassling her sister.
Loving her brothers.
Helping, sometimes, around the house.

And having birthday parties.
Yes, we threw her her first friend party.
More pictures to come.

two years old

July 12th, 2010
A fun-filled day of Toy Story.
Streamers, balloons and yes, even a first ever movie theater experience.
(And for more than just him.)
A couple presents.
And an ice cream sundae.
(I was out of eggs...)

I couldn't get a good smile out of him.
He just kept singing 'hap bir-day to you.'
It was cute.
In fact, two weeks later he is still singing it.

May all your wildest 2 year old wishes come true, my sweet boy.

Yes, that is whipped cream and chocolate on his face.
He was getting impatient.

And for his stats.  I missed his 18 month check-up...
26.8 lbs (25%)
35.5 inches (75%)
And if you double his height here, it puts him just under 6 foot at 5'11...Sorry hun.

happy birthday to me

Is there any better gift than the love of your kids?
Well, maybe the love of your husband who takes the afternoon off so you can go shopping without any kids.

And speaking of kids, this little 3 month old...he gets around...

Coming up soon. Hopefully.
A certain little guy turned two.

and a little bit of pixie dust

October 28th. 2009.
Reganne turned 3.

It was a fun filled day at Pixie Hollow. Reganne loved her *adorable* jammies from Grandma Jean, her new Tinkerbell toys and DVD and of course, her very own Snuggie.
(Don't ask what the girls were posing as in that picture...?)

five, finally

Ah, September 8th finally arrived. Although the *party* started days before;)

We drove up to Sheridan for Labor Day (another mandatory Friday off for Joe) and decided to give Marryn a little party there with Chris's grandkids. (That would be Joe's dad's girlfriend;) Grandpa got her a cake, Chris got her a butterfly balloon and we picked out some Hello Kitty birthday supplies and headed to the park. It was a beautiful evening and the kids had a blast.
"This is the BEST birthday ever!" is what we heard.

Especially after she opened her Hello Kitty umbrella.
Then on her actual birthday, she had school. So we made Rainbow Chip Cupcakes to share with her class and she got to hold the Birthday Bear all day long! And that evening, she got to come with me to Mutual (well, they all had to actually) where our activity was going mini golfing. She loved it. And thought it was all for her;)
***
Then that night, yes at like 9pm, she finally opened the majority of her presents.
Her fav? Her Zebra Snuggie she's been asking for for months.
